Santiago, September 9. – Organized by FISA of the GL events group and in the first of its three days, Expo Salud opened at the Metropolitan Santiago with the participation of more than 240 brands in a space of 4,000 square meters. In this edition, the fair and exhibition offers a wide range of solutions and innovations in areas such as Hospital Infrastructure and Technology; Biomedicine and Biotechnology; Research and Development; Laboratory and Pharmaceuticals; and Epidemiology and Prevention.

The inauguration brought together important figures from the public and private health sectors, including Andrea Solís, head of the Healthcare Network Management Division of the Ministry of Health; Francisco Sotomayor, executive director of GL events Chile; May Chomali, executive director of CENS; and Paolo Garcés, executive of Health Technology Development at Corfo.

In his speech, Francisco Sotomayor, executive director of GL events, underlined the relevance of the fair in a context marked by ongoing healthcare challenges. “This fair is especially relevant in view of the various changes and health challenges, such as the one we are experiencing today, although in August 2023, the Ministry of Health announced the end of the health alert due to the Covid-19 pandemic virus, we have had important challenges again this year due to respiratory viruses, which forced us to look very closely at the occupation of beds in the sector”, said Sotomayor.

Regarding the Latam Health Summit Congress, Sotomayor highlighted the participation of around 60 panelists who will present in 16 panels during the three days of the fair. “In this new version of the congress we hope to contribute to rethink questions, complexities, and respond to the new challenges that Chile and the world present, contributing to a debate and analysis of the different problems that the sector is experiencing,” he added.
One of the highlights of the event is the participation of women in the congress. “We are proud as an organization, is that 50% of the panelists at the congress this year are women. This is a sign of what we have achieved as an organization and of how busy the sector is in highlighting the role of women in healthcare,” concluded FISA’s executive director.

The seminar will continue its extensive program of talks on Tuesday September 10 and Wednesday September 11, check the complete program at the following link:
